If you're staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites® hotel in Stamford on business, you'll be glad to know we're less than an hour from New York City, New Haven and Newark. Yet there's plenty to do and see in our city, which was deeded in 1640. For an afternoon at the beach, visit Cove Island Park or Cummings Park. The Maritime Aquarium offers living exhibits and maritime education using Long Island Sound. Likewise, The Stamford Museum & Nature Center offers a hands-on experience to learn about our community. Lastly, to truly experience the outdoors at its best, visit the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens. Just 10 miles from our hotel in Stamford, the arboretum features 10 hiking and boardwalk trails on 91 acres.
Finding the most famous landmark in Flanders is as easy as duck soup-just look for the Big Duck, recently refurbished for Hampton® Hotels' Save-A-Landmark® Program. Built in 1931, it's actually a 20-foot by 40-foot gift shop originally designed to lure travelers to purchase Peking ducks. Known as the "world's largest" duck, its unique architecture has gotten it onto the National Register of Historic Places. Hampton® Hotel volunteers restored the massive duck to its original 1930s condition through repainting, repairs and landscaping.
