Abraham Lincoln's early schoolbooks came from Jacksonville. The great orator, William Jennings Bryan practiced law here. Three governors of Illinois were born here and the only other governor's mansion outside of Springfield, Illinois, stands not far from the Hampton Inn® hotel in Jacksonville. In Jacksonville, if you can dream it, we'll listen.
There's plenty of things to do in Jacksonville, IL. In 1864, we listened when the father of modern dentistry, Dr. Greene Vardiman Black began his practice here, not far from the Hampton Inn hotel in Jacksonville. We listened to Harriet Beecher Stowe's brother, Edward Beecher and became a hotbed for the Underground Railroad. We even listened to W. E. Sullivan who founded a company intent on spinning people into the air. His “Big Eli” Ferris wheel, one of the first, can still be seen near our hotel in Jacksonville Square.
So call us, and reserve your room today at the Hampton Inn hotel in Jacksonville. We're listening.
