Guests to the Hampton Inn Frederick hotel won't have to look far to see the famous spires immortalized in Dame Barbara Fritchie's poem about the town. For culture, stop by the Weinberger Center for the Arts for a variety of offerings, from drama to music. The National Civil War Medicine Museum will fascinate any student of medicine. Also, The Francis Scott Key Monument is here in Frederick-the author of our national anthem is buried here in town. We have three individual museums dedicated, respectively, to the C&O Canal, the B&O Railroad and the history of horse-drawn carriages in the United States. When you're done exploring all of the historical things to do in Frederick near our hotel, catch a performance at one of our local nightclubs, see an AA baseball game or get out hiking or biking on one of the town's many trails.
We recommend that you visit the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, where President Abraham Lincoln spent nearly a quarter of his presidency, where he first drafted the Emancipation Proclamation.
