Albany was discovered in 1609 by Henry Hudson and settled by the Dutch in 1624. Benjamin Franklin's Plan of the Union was presented here in 1754, which is the basis of the city's moniker, “Cradle of the Union.” The area around our hotel in Albany is brimming with history.
