C.J. Brown Dam and Reservoir offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities. There is something for everyone; the camper, hiker, angler, bird watcher, boater, and more. The project includes 2,120 acres of water and 1,965 acres of land. The Corps suggests beginning a tour at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Visitor Center, the overlook and the dam areas. The Visitor Center has a variety of exhibits and interactive displays highlighting the history and purpose of the reservoir project, ecology and natural history of the area, and land and water management activities. Picnic areas, fishing opportunities, hiking/walking trails and bike trail access are located near the Visitor Center at the Lake View, Prairie View and Meadow View recreation areas. Each area has parking, picnic tables, grills, water fountains and most have restroom facilities.

A century-old City Hall and Marketplace has become the new home for Springfield and Clark County’s heritage. Priceless mementos have been assembled to open an exciting window on seven generations of fascinating history. Exhibit galleries, an archive and research library, meeting facilities, a museum store, the Springfield Arts Council, and the office of Veteran’s Services are all housed in the Heritage Center of Clark County. The Heritage Center of Clark County occupies a 50 feet by 462 feet, 56,000 square foot, three story, brick and stone building in the center of downtown Springfield, originally constructed in 1890 for city offices and a farmer’s market. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The architect of the building was Charles Creager, a native of Springfield, who also designed buildings such as St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Clark County Courthouse and the old downtown Post Office. The architectural style is known as Richardsonian Romanesque. A century-old City Hall and Marketplace has become the new home for Springfield and Clark County’s heritage. The Westcott House Foundation was established in September 2000 to manage the restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright's only Prairie Style home in Ohio and to develop The Westcott House as a museum and educational center. The house, fully restored and hailed by many as a forgotten architectural treasure, opened to the public on October 15, 2005. The Westcott House is one of about 260 Wright houses remaining in the world with eleven located in Ohio. One of the Foundation's primary goals is to establish The Westcott House as a "must-see" destination for the benefit of community and state, architectural enthusiasts, and the general public. With the restoration process now complete and the house open for tours, The Westcott House Foundation board and staff are focusing on the development of a vision and plan for the future that builds upon Frank Lloyd Wright's legacy and Springfield's rich heritage of industrial innovation.
