Stay at our Hampton Inn hotel and explore the many great things to do in Johnstown, PA. Visit the Cambria Iron Company's inclined railway, completed in 1891. The amazing lift climbs the Yoder Hill at a grade of 70.9 percent, making it the steepest vehicular inclined plane in the world. It runs every 15 minutes carrying passengers as well as automobiles. Behind the Inclined Plane, you'll find the James Wolfe Sculpture Trail, a collection of eight steel sculptures.
While you're in town, don't miss the Johnstown Flood Memorial and Johnstown Flood Museum. The catastrophe of 1889 was a flood that shocked the nation. After the disaster, Andrew Carnegie rebuilt the town's library—it was to be the first of 2,500 Carnegie libraries built by the steel magnate. The A. Cambria Library is now the home of the Johnstown Flood Museum. Lastly, when you're ready for some golf, a number of challenging courses await near our hotel in Johnstown.
