Warwick's history will impress. Founded in 1642, our city claims the first shot fired in the American Revolution against the British schooner, Gaspee. George Washington's second-in-command was Nathaniel Greene; a Warwick native. Just 2.4 miles from our hotel in Warwick, you will find Pawtuxet Village, the oldest village in New England.
Take a tour of Warwick City Hall, built in 1894, where you can see the town scale, city jail and council chambers. The hall is in Apponaug, just a little more than two miles from our hotel. Apponaug is a Historic District and many of the 18th and 19th century buildings have survived.
For some beach fun, visit Warwick City Park, which offers 126 acres of hiking, biking, ball fields and a bathhouse. Best of all, our hotel in Warwick is just a short drive from all the culture, dining, shopping and history of nearby Providence. For those who appreciate the history of the United States, then a must-see landmark is the National Monument to the Forefathers.
