The attractions around our Newport News, Virginia hotel offer visitors many choices when it comes to ways to spend an afternoon. Looking to explore some history or tour a plantation? Visit Endview Plantation, a beauty built in 1769 by William Hardwood near our Newport News hotel. The home served as the headquarters for Confederate generals McLaws and Toombs during the Peninsula Campaign. Another mansion, Lee Hall, was built in 1859 and was one of the last antebellum homes in the area.
Experience life in a colonial town at Colonial Williamsburg, which is only 15 miles away from our hotel. For some nautical history, don’t miss the Mariners' Museum. The museum houses everything from the USS Monitor to the ready room of an aircraft carrier.
