The area around the Hampton Inn hotel in Lewisburg has a long and fascinating history. Nestled in the Greenbrier Valley, the town retains antebellum homes, buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries and a downtown - 236 acres in all - that remains on the National Register of Historic Places. The city was the site of a Civil War battle in May 1862, and visitors to our hotel in Lewisburg won't have to venture far to see its effects. The Confederate Cemetery is one obvious remnant as is the cannonball pockmark on the southwest corner of John Wesley United Methodist Church. The North House Museum features historical items from the Revolutionary War to World War II.
Visiting the historical sites of our town isn't the only thing to do in Lewisburg, WV. Want to catch a performance? Head to Carnegie Hall. No, not in New York; right here in Lewisburg. Lastly, you're in the valley that brought golf to America. Just a mile from our hotel in Lewisburg, you'll find the Elks Country Club, which offers 18 holes and Blackwell's Restaurant.
